PRO-PAIN Makes a Powerful Comeback with Their First Album in Over a Decade, 'Stone Cold Anger', and Unleashes the Single 'Oceans Of Blood'
February 11, 2026
The iconic hardcore band PRO-PAIN from New York is entering a thrilling new chapter as they join forces with Napalm Records. This collaboration heralds the arrival of their sixteenth studio album, titled "Stone Cold Anger", set to be released on May 15, 2026. After an eleven-year hiatus, this album showcases the band's dynamic energy more vividly than ever. "Stone Cold Anger" promises a heavy, furious sound that reaffirms PRO-PAIN's intensity and prowess, proving they have maintained their strength throughout the years. The album features ten tracks filled with fiery melodies and powerful guitar riffs, complemented by passionate and resonant vocals, making it a fitting successor to their hit song "Voice Of Rebellion", which garnered an impressive 3.5 million streams in 2015.
To mark the announcement of this eagerly awaited album, PRO-PAIN has released a new single: "Oceans Of Blood", an explosive opening track that underscores the band’s unwavering commitment to the hardcore scene over their three-decade journey. With this energetic anthem, the New York-based group returns not just heavy, but angrier and more ready than ever to take on the world.
Bassist and vocalist Gary Meskil shared his thoughts on the album, stating: "A recurring theme runs through most of the lyrics in 'Stone Cold Anger'. A significant portion deals with the idea of retribution, and our first single, 'Oceans Of Blood', exemplifies this concept. People everywhere are feeling an overwhelming frustration due to the rampant corruption and criminality exhibited by their governments, which has now reached a breaking point. Wars are being fought in the name of these citizens without their consent, often financed by their own hard-earned tax dollars. As living costs soar and inflation diminishes the value of money, tensions are escalating. We’ve witnessed this boiling point in places like Sri Lanka, France, and more recently Nepal, where desperate citizens have resorted to extreme measures against corrupt leaders, even resulting in violence and property destruction. When those in authority avoid accountability, it leaves the public little choice but to stand up for their rights and reclaim control."
This much-anticipated album marks the return of former guitarist Eric Klinger and opens with the punishing track "Oceans Of Blood", an electrifying piece that reaffirms that the hardcore legends have retained every bit of their ferocity over the past 35 years. The title track kicks off with soaring melodic guitars that act almost like sirens, surrounding the commanding vocals of frontman and bassist Gary Meskil. The aptly named "March Of The Giants" embodies a display of sheer power layered upon a heavy and groove-laden foundation. Meanwhile, "Uncle Sam Wants You!" adopts a more rock 'n' roll vibe, featuring a driving bass line and sharp social commentary; this genuine and raw energy continues throughout songs like "Demonic Intervention" and "Rinse & Repeat". Meskil's gravelly shouts fill the melodies of "Hell Or High Water" before PRO-PAIN charges forward into the anthemic "Scorched Earth", passionately declaring "And so it begins..." The subsequent track, "Jonestown Punch", invigorates listeners with rapid, uplifting rhythms before "Sky's The Limit" closes out the album with catchy sing-along choruses.
Meskil expressed his gratitude to fans worldwide, saying: "Thank you for your unwavering support over the past 35 years. After taking a decade-long break from the recording studio, we are excited to return with 'Stone Cold Anger' — an album born from global tensions and the urgent call for accountability. Our first single, 'Oceans Of Blood', encapsulates the outrage experienced as corruption, injustice, and economic pressures push people to their limits."
