Imagine stepping into the shoes of Lewis Knox, a true Leith legend and a man who's living out his wildest dreams.
"Throw me back to Roman times, and I'd be in the Colosseum." This bold statement sums up Lewis' passion and his journey from the streets of Leith to the world of bare knuckle boxing.
Born and bred in Leith, Lewis' story is one of determination and a love for sport. He attended Lorne Primary and Leith Academy, and his life was shaped by the vibrant culture of his hometown. With a family background in football and bodybuilding, it's no surprise that sports ran through his veins.
But here's where it gets interesting. Lewis had a chance to pursue a football scholarship in Canada, a dream for many, but love intervened. He met his partner, Robynn, and together they started a family. Football took a back seat, but his passion for sports didn't fade.
And this is the part most people miss... Lewis discovered a new passion - bare knuckle boxing. It was a chance encounter at the O2 Arena in London that sparked his interest. He dived headfirst into training, and soon enough, he was fighting in charity matches and amateur bouts. His natural talent and dedication shone through.
"I always fought, just illegally," Lewis admits. But his transition to the legal ring was swift. He signed with Bad to the Bone and had his first professional fight in 2023. The rest, as they say, is history.
Lewis' rise in the bare knuckle boxing world has been nothing short of meteoric. He became a champion, defeating tough opponents like Rafael Polotski and Ronnie Gattie. But his biggest achievement? Becoming the first foreign fighter to box in a legal bare knuckle event in Australia. A true pioneer!
"I want to get to the very top of BKFC and have a big fight in America," Lewis says with determination. Currently ranked third in the UK and 16th in the world, he's well on his way to achieving his goal of world domination.
But here's the controversial part... Lewis' journey hasn't been without sacrifices. He's missed out on family time, but his partner, Robynn, has been his rock. And when he steps into the ring, his family's pride shines through. They see his passion and intensity, and the kids think, "Wow!"
Lewis' story is a testament to chasing your dreams, no matter the obstacles. So, what do you think? Is Lewis' journey inspiring, or does it raise questions about the risks and rewards of such a path? We'd love to hear your thoughts in the comments!
